Showreel

04:57

For my showreel I’ll be using different clips from all pieces of work that i’ve done throughout the two years of this course. All the clips will have the same colour gradient so they will match the proposed sequence and editing style of the showreel. I’m mainly going to be using fast paced movement shots to keep my audience engaged while presenting my work to them.
Clips i’ll be using will be:
-Fast paced motion scenes
- My ident to show my aftereffect skills
-Highlights from my FMP
-Editing the music myself from three different songs, putting them together in the space of thirty seconds.

Editing this all together will take some times because i’ll be breaking down each clips and swapping them around to give it the jittery effect and also cutting clips in half and reversing the speed of the second clip.

This is the whole timeline for my showreel. Each clips lasts for a second or just under. The clips are the blue bars, whereas the green bars is audio. The audio is a range of three different songs which i combined together to create intense music for my showreel. With each clip I sliced through them to create the jittery effect. By adding different effects on each clip from addictive dissolve to different iris changes and also increasing the speed on a few clips. These are the editing styles I used to try and engage with the audience. Different effects were used within the music as I added each individual click towards the end to try and get the beat faster. Also adding my own build up during the middle when my Ident is shown.

This is the clip i used from my Television Advert, I sliced each clip and rearranged them in a different order, by adding an effect on most of each individual clip. Creating that jump effect where it jumps but still runs smoothly, each individual clip is two frames long.

This is one of the audio files used within my showreel, during the middle of the track I didn't like the beat that wasted as it didn't match the rest of the video, so i used keyframes to lower the sound in that certain area while keeping the rest of the audio file at a reasonable level.

I’ll be saving my showreel as an MP4 and this format is supported by all different platforms including vimeo, YouTube and other portfolio websites.

Showreel

I used a different editing style than from editing it normal like a film or a tv series. From cutting down each clip, swapping them around and also reversing speed, I brought together a unique editing style which engages the audience and also lives up to industry practice.
